May is National Stroke Awareness Month.

Did you know approximately every 40 seconds someone in the U.S. has a stroke?

Calling 911 is the best way to get someone who is having a stroke to definitive care. EMS can start appropriate treatment and alert the receiving hospital prior to arrival to help increase the chance for recovery.

We, along with American Heart Association, urge everyone to learn how to recognize the warning signs and B.E. F.AS.T.

AHA CPR Class Alert:

Schroon Lake EMS will be offering two American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR with AED classes. The AHA processing fee is $25 per student, payable day of class. SLEMS does not charge for this class.

Dates: Saturday May 16 or June 13, 2026
Times: 10am-2pm
Limited to 12 students per class
