To report child abuse or maltreatment, please call the Statewide Central Register at 1-800-342-3720. If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local police department. Schoharie County Department of Social Services will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 8:30am.

The Schoharie County Rural Preservation Corporation will re-open its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list for 1 week only:

Opens: Monday, August 31, 2026 @ 8:00 AM

Closes: Friday, September 4, 2026 @ 4:00 PM

How to Apply:

Online (24/7): Apply at www.schohariecountyrpc.com (Applications are timestamped first-come, first-served; only applications submitted on/after Aug 31 will be accepted).

In-Office Help: Walk-in assistance for the online portal is available at 597 East Main St, Cobleskill, NY on Mon, Wed & Fri from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
