The Schoharie Fire Department has become one that is aggressive, yet well trained, with firematic and administrative officers that are both optimistic and practical. Located in rural upstate New York thirty miles south-west of the State's Capital, Albany, our district covers about twenty-seven square miles of diverse terrain. From rolling, forested hills to our east and west side separated by the
Schoharie river valley, we run five fire apparatuses out of one station with a volunteer staff of about forty members. The Schoharie Fire Department averages 240 calls per year, providing fire, EMS, rescue, and fire police services to our district. We have developed great partnerships with our neighboring companies of Central Bridge, Esperance, Gallupville & Middleburgh, resulting in the establishment of mutual aid contracts. We also provide assistance to Scho-Wright Ambulance Service as needed. The speech expressed by visitors to this webpage does not
