The Indiana State Fraternal Order of Police asks everyone across our state to keep LaPorte County Sheriff’s Deputy Jon Samuelson in their thoughts and prayers following this morning’s line-of-duty shooting in Michigan City.
Deputy Samuelson remains in critical condition as he courageously battles through his injuries. During this difficult time, we stand in full support of Deputy Samuelson, his family, his fellow deputies, and the entire LaPorte County law enforcement community.
May he find strength in the overwhelming support surrounding him, and may he make a full and swift recovery.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Dunkin’ locations last Friday to support Special Olympics Indiana during Cop on a Rooftop. Your generosity, kindness, and continued support are what made this event such a success. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help make a meaningful impact for the athletes of Special Olympics Indiana.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Dunkin', Albert's Diamond Jewelers, and all of the Officers who volunteered their time to help throughout the event. Their support and partnership played a huge role in making the day possible.

Most importantly, thank you to our community. The true success story of the day was the incredible support shown by the people who stopped by, donated, and helped make a difference for such a great cause. We are grateful for each and every one of you.

As soon as we receive our final donation total, we will be sure to share it with everyone.

See you on Friday!

The Schererville FOP Lodge 170 would like to formally clarify that we are not endorsing any candidates in the upcoming Schererville Town Council election.

As an organization dedicated to serving and protecting our community, we believe that public safety should remain a nonpartisan priority. Our mission is to support the men and women in law enforcement and to foster trust, cooperation, and safety for all residents, regardless of political affiliation.

Endorsing political candidates in local elections can unintentionally create divisions or perceptions of bias that may compromise the neutrality essential to effective public safety work. We feel strongly that our role is best fulfilled by remaining focused on our responsibilities to the community, rather than engaging in political advocacy.

We have been made aware of statements suggesting that certain candidates have the support of public safety in the Town of Schererville. We want to be clear: the Schererville FOP Lodge 170 has not endorsed any candidate, nor have we been contacted by any campaign seeking such support.

We encourage all residents to stay informed, participate in the electoral process, and vote for the candidates they believe will best serve the Town of Schererville.

Our commitment remains steadfast: to protect, serve, and support our community with integrity, professionalism, and impartiality.

It was a great turnout and a memorable event.
