Flag Day is observed each year on June 14, honoring when the Continental Congress officially made the Stars and Stripes the symbol of America in 1777.

On June 11, more than 200 seniors in the Schaumburg community gathered at Chandler's Chophouse, Grille & Banquets for The Barn's annual Flag Day celebration. The celebration began with the flag hoisting ceremony by the American Legion Post 1983, the Pledge of Allegiance, words from local government representatives and community leaders, entertainment by Darryl Armistead, dancing, lunch, raffles, and, of course, bingo!

The Barn offers meals, activities, and social opportunities for older adults in our community. Learn more about senior programming at The Barn by visiting https://schaumburg.com/thebarn.

Congratulations to our May Business of the Month, Bricks & Minifigs Schaumburg!

Since opening in April 2024, Bricks & Minifigs Schaumburg has become much more than a LEGO® store—it's a community gathering place for builders and collectors of all ages. Founded by disabled veteran and lifelong LEGO enthusiast Bradley Banaszek. Following Bradley's passing this winter, the store continues to honor his vision under the leadership of his sister, Leslie Harrison.

From rare and retired sets to workshops, team-building events, and family-friendly activities, Bricks & Minifigs fosters creativity and connection throughout Schaumburg. Their commitment to the community includes supporting local school LEGO clubs, hosting the Windy City LEGO User Group, and actively participating in the Schaumburg Business Association.

Thank you, Bricks & Minifigs Schaumburg, for helping build a stronger community—one brick at a time.
