Did you know it would take 8,076,000 diapers to meet the need of low-to-moderate income families with young children right here in Westchester County? That number is staggering — and it's why I'm collaborating with 914 Cares and other legislators to host the Diaper Need Awareness Month Drive throughout September.

From September 8 through 30, we're collecting diapers of all sizes at convenient drop-off locations across the county. Check out the flyer for a drop site near you, including my office in Eastchester! For questions or more information, call 914Cares at (914) 458-5220 or my office at (914) 723-1115.

Today is Overdose Awareness Day, a time to remember those we have lost and support those affected by substance use disorder. Reducing the stigma and raising awareness expands access to treatment and recovery services. Together we can build a community where everyone has the support they need to recover.

Last night was a tough night for the Mets, but still a fantastic time at Citi Field! And what a thrill to meet Mets legend Mookie Wilson!

Even when the score isn’t in your favor, there’s nothing like a night at the ballpark, especially with friends and fellow Mets fans like Fred and Mike.

Happy Women’s Equality Day! Today, August 26th marks 106 years since the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the US Constitution, which granted women the right to vote in the United States. It has been more than a century - yet our fight for equality is far from over. From pay equity to reproductive rights, we still have work to do. I remain committed to championing legislation that advances women’s rights and opportunities.

My nurse practitioner bill is now in effect! This legislation allows nurse practitioners to sign medical documents related to student athletes, school bus drivers and monitors, temporary disability parking permits, and jury duty excuses for breastfeeding mothers. By expanding what nurse practitioners are authorized to sign, we’re making everyday healthcare and essential services more accessible for New Yorkers.

Protecting our communities means confronting new threats before they put New Yorkers at risk. Two new laws now in effect crack down on ghost guns, convertible pistols and 3-D printed fi****ms, while another strengthens safeguards against unlawful drone use and credible drone threats (Ch. 55 of 2026, Parts C & D).
