Scanlon was incorporated December 30, 1901. One of the best resources the city has is the wonderful people who live here. They are warm, friendly, and take great pride in their city. Just take a drive around the city and you will see beautiful gardens, lush lawns and many smiling faces. Scanlon joined the Cloquet Area Fire District as of January 1, 2011. Scanlon has seen much expansion in recent y

ears both in residential as well as commercial development, including the “Suncrest Assisted Living Facility” located on Washington Avenue. a Janitor to work most weekends
and some week nights.
Around 10 hours a week.
Duties will include sweeping, mopping,
cleaning kitchen, shoveling and various other jobs.

Thank you Bruce from Airserve, Jessica from 148th Fighter Wing, VFW and VFW auxiliary, cotton candy, and Bethel Lutheran Church for the yummy corn on the cob, Cloquet Area Fire District, and Cloquet Police Department, you all made this event a great success.

City of Scanlon has 2 open seats for the City Council.
Both seats are a 4 year term.
Meetings are second Wednesday of each month with some special meetings as needed.
Stop in at the City Clerks office to complete an Affidavit of Candidacy. Application start date is July 30, 2024 end date is August 13, 2024 by 5:00.

Scanlon will start hydrant flushing the week of September25th. They will be flushing hydrant's all week. Please run water to clear your pipes before washing clothes or doing dishes. You may see some rusty water and running water will help clear out your pipes.
