‼️SCAM ALERT‼️
We have been made aware of a new text message scam in which scammers impersonate the Kansas Division of Vehicles (DOV). These messages falsely claim that the recipient has outstanding traffic violations in an attempt to steal personal or financial information.
Please note: The DOV will never send unsolicited text messages regarding fines, toll fees, payments, or violations.
What to Do if You Receive a Scam Message
• Do not click any links in the message.
• Do not provide personal or payment information.
• Delete the message immediately.
If you receive a text you believe is a scam, please report it to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
Fraudsters frequently change tactics to exploit unsuspecting individuals and often try to create a sense of urgency. Stay vigilant and protect yourself from scams. If you have questions about your driving record, please contact the Kansas DOV.
