Amazing fundraising event today where our Sayreville Police Department and Sayreville Volunteer Fire Department played a lively softball game against each other for a great cause "Rooting for Riley". The Police won the game in the very last inning. Thank you to our first responders for coming together for a good cause and supporting our Community.

Out with the old and in with the new. We took delivery of 69 new Scott Air packs to replace our current ones which were expiring and were given a class on them. Would like to thank the Borough of Sayreville Mayor and Council, and also the business administrator for purchasing the air packs. Would also like to thank New Jersey Fire Equipment Company for the training and for working with us to make this happen. These packs are now on the rigs and in service.

You can turn this sucker off.

Our Chief is right, all the fire departments in the county need help. We’ve heard all the excuses. I can’t commit to (fill in the blank), I’m not always available, I’m too young/old, I don’t know anything about it. They are just excuses. We are all volunteers. We can when we can and we can’t when we can’t.

This is an incredible job you get paid for in ways that aren’t money. If you’ve ever thought about it, contact the VFD in your area. The hardest part, is walking through that station door the first time.

We all live in the communities we serve. How can you make a difference?

Every fire department across the country needs help.

On 4/11/23 just before 1800 hrs Sayreville Engine Company was dispatched to a brush fire off of Jernee Mill Rd. Shortly after that multiple reports came in of brush fires behind Zaleski drive. The calls continued to come in along the rail line and extended all the way down to crossmans pit. All 4 Sayreville fire companies were involved in the efforts to control the multiple brush fires throughout the town. We want to thank our brothers and sisters from Cheesequake fd, Colonia Fd, East Brunswick fire dist #1, Helmetta fd, Hopelawn fd, Laurence Harbor fd, Madison Park fd, NJ Forrest fire service, South Amboy fd, South Old Bridge Fd, South River fd, and the county coordinators. Everyone from Sayreville fd and our mutual aid companies worked hard and for long hours to contain this blaze. Thank you to everyone involved for helping get these fires under control, we appreciate and applaud your efforts.
