Sayreville Fire Department and mutual aid crews are currently working on Scott Ave for a working structure with heavy fire and wire exposures.

Please avoid the area to allow room for crews to work and for your own safety

Busy day for Engine Company and the rest of Sayreville Volunteer Fire Department and our day may not be over yet.

First was a brush fire spanning almost one acre behind Quick Check on Main St. Crews from all four companies, NJ Forestry Service, and our mutual aid companies worked for nearly 3 hours containing and extinguishing the fire.

While operations were wrapping up there Engine Company was also dispatched for a dumpster fire in Winding Woods. Sayreville Engine 7 and South River Engine 3 responded to put that out as well.

As we are expecting heavy thunderstorms in the coming minutes we ask that you be safe while the storm passes. Call 911 to report any downed wires and do not get close to them.

We are always looking for new members so if you'd like to be part of the action you can pick up an application from Borough Hall

Happy June! Summer will be here before we know it.

If Truck 1 looked a little different, it's because our new truck has been in service. It came back to us in December after getting some finalized work done at Fire & Safety Services, Ltd. but professional pictures were delayed due to recent weather craziness. For now we have this picture in our bay.

Hi all,

A few months back we made a post regarding the state of volunteer fire departments throughout the country. It did give some traction in new members applicants but still lower than we were hoping for.

Sayreville Volunteer Fire Department is still looking for new members and we want your feedback. Attached is a 5 question survey to see what would get you through our doors. Responses are anonymous unless you decide to give us your contact information, and your feedback will be reviewed by fire department officers.

Every year Sayreville Engine Company #1 hosts our annual golf outing with our friends at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Colts Neck. All proceeds go directly to the fire company and help fund trainings & purchase necessary equipment.

Members of Sayreville Engine Company #1 spent this morning doing air management training at Veteran's Field track behind Borough Hall. Members walked one lap while on air and stopped at different points to practice buddy breathing, changing out air bottles in full gear, and using our RIT pack connections. At the end we measured how much air was left in each member's bottle.

Help us help you. If you have a hydrant near your property make sure it's shoveled out. Storm estimates are anywhere from 10-24" depending on what radar you believe.
