Just before 10am this morning, the Sayreville Volunteer Fire Department was alerted to a structure fire in the Melrose section of town. Engine 3 confirmed the working fire from Station 3 as a column of smoke was visible. Upon arrival of Chief 110, heavy fire was showing. First due Engine 3, arrived and stretched lines to both sides of the structure to protect neighboring residences. In total, the fire reached two alarms, with third alarm companies standing by in all four Borough of Sayreville fire stations.
Sayreville units on scene: Chief 110, Assistant Chiefs 111 and 112, Chief Safety Officer 150, Engine 3, Squad 3, Engine 4, Truck 2, Truck 5, Truck 1, Engine 7, Engine 1, Engine 5, TAC 7, Brush 1, Sayreville Emergency Management, Sayreville Police Department and HMH BLS units.
