Sayre has 3 OK-First Certified Agents and all 3 are volunteers! To achieve this, they attended a 40 hour class, passed a certification test and are required to complete an 8 hour recertification class every 2 years.

Being Mesonet Certified allows them access to the same radar data and all information as the National Weather Service, a direct phone number to the Meteorologist on duty at NWS Norman, a nationwide 24 hour realtime chat system linking Public Service, Emergency Service, Media and NWS to share up to the minute information, a bi-weekly NWS webinar forecast as well as special updates anytime and the ability to request point forecasts for events.

Final touches on the water tower are happening today. We will start filling the tank tomorrow and then collecting two consecutive water samples to confirm the water is safe to drink inside the tank. This project is funded by a Grant that was awarded to the city in late September of last year.
