Athens Township Police Department The Athens Township Police Department was established in 1964. Roger Clink has led as Chief of Police since January of 2018.

Currently there are eleven full-time police officers and three SROs serving and protecting the community of Athens Township.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: This is a reminder that all EAST bound traffic on Wilawana Road starting at Mile Lane Road towards Elmira St/ Route 220 is CLOSED and must follow the posted Detours, WEST bound traffic, from Elmira St/Route 220 only is OPEN across the bridge. Please follow all clearly posted detour and road closed signs and do not travel against traffic across the bridge.

Here's an update on the Wilawana Road bridge rehabilitation project between Mile Lane Road and the Route 220 interchange in Athens Township, Bradford County:

Starting tomorrow (Monday, March 30), construction of access roads, work platforms and removal of portions of the existing deck and portions of the abutment backwalls/wingwalls will continue.

Wilawana Road eastbound lane will be closed between Mile Lane Road and Elmira Street. A detour using Wilawana Road, Interstate 86 east in New York State and Route 220 south will be in place for eastbound traffic through the fall 2026.

Westbound traffic will be maintained in the work zone, and drivers will have access to Toziers Landing Park.

Work on the project includes reconstruction of the concrete pedestals, wingwalls and backwalls, removal and replacement of the bridge deck and barrier, repair and painting of the steel beams, approach work, and paving.

Additional work includes rehabilitation of the bridge deck carrying Wilawana Road over Route 220, base repairs, milling and resurfacing on Wilawana Road and installation of a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera at the Route 220/Wilawana Road interchange. Work on the project is anticipated to be completed in the fall of next year.
