Reminder that Monday, September 7th is a holiday which means that there will not be curbside recycling collection in Zone #1 (Tuesday Trash Collection Route) and the South Thomas Avenue Recycling Center will be closed. Friday, September 18th will be the only curbside recycling collection in Zone #1 this month.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

August 24, 2026 - Restoration projects on the Packer Avenue Bridge and East Lockhart Street Bridge will begin today.

The West Packer Avenue Bridge will be open to traffic with lane restrictions between 7am and 7pm. Work is expected to last several weeks.

The East Lockhart Street Bridge will be closed to all traffic. Work is expected to last 2 weeks weather permitting. Traffic will be detoured to the Susquehanna River Bridge in Athens.

Please allow yourself extra time to get to work, school, or appointments.

Earlier this evening, the Borough Council and Mayor Henry Farley recognized Department of Public Works Foreman Blane Lathrop for his 30 years of service to the Department of Public Works.

Mayor Henry Farley presented Blane with a plaque on behalf of the Borough Council.
