The Village's strategic planning process — guided by Arndt Municipal Support — kicks off with Community Listening Sessions on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and Wednesday, Sept. 16, 6–7:30 p.m. at the Savoy Recreation Center Community Room (402 Graham Drive).

🌟 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒂𝒔 𝑫𝒖𝒏𝒍𝒂𝒑 🌟

Today marks the 212th birthday of Matthias Lane Dunlap (1814-1875), who in 1855 bought land in Champaign County to plant an orchard on what would eventually become Savoy. He soon moved his family here, and the Dunlap name became a key part of Savoy's early development. Matthias was a noted abolitionist and would later serve on the University of Illinois' first Board of Trustees. His son, Henry, was influential in Illinois politics, education, and agriculture.

SFD firefighters Luke Fitton, Tim Oliver and Adam Siero participated in the 9/11 Memorial Climb at Gies Memorial Stadium today in remembrance of the victims and first responders who lost their lives 25 years ago today.

🎬 Last month, municipal leaders from the region, including Village Administrator Andy Quarnstrom, toured Flyover Film Studios in Rantoul to learn more about the economic impact the studios bring to the area and the benefits of partnering with municipalities. Located in a revamped hangar at the former Chanute Air Force Base, recent productions include "Chili Finger" and "Moses the Black." Thanks to Flyover President Jen Shelby for showing us around! 🎥
