Texas Emergency Supply Tax Free Weekend is coming up April 25–27, 2026.

This is a great opportunity to stock up on emergency preparedness supplies such as flashlights, batteries, first aid kits, weather radios, bottled water, and other qualifying items without paying sales tax.

Public Information (Savoy area) 04/07/2026 the Platinum Engie BESS is conducting routine fire alarm calibration, so from time to time throughout the day there maybe an audible alarm heard from that area. Local fire and emergency services personnel are aware of the calibration test today.

Sunday (03-29-2026) another windy day, forecast up to 26 mph. The winds really pick up right around noon.

03/27/2026 (Friday) due to winds forecasted to be at or over 23 mph No Outdoor Burning is allowed. Right now the only good day to do any burning is going to be tomorrow Saturday (March 28th). Sunday looks to be another very windy day with winds forecasted to be above 23 mph. The forecast can change daily, check back with us each morning for updates.

03/17/2026 6:08 am another cold morning and day of wind and low humidity. This will be another No Burn Day, winds are forecasted to be above 23 mph and humidity down to 20%. The “green up” is getting better, however we still have areas that still have dead dry vegetation.
