🚨A sandbar in the Ogeechee River was the scene of a stabbing and shooting last night, and we have a suspect in custody.🚨
The Suspect
⚖️ Forty-seven-year-old Kevin Ramage is in Chatham County Police Department custody and will be served with an aggravated assault warrant and transferred to the Chatham County Detention Center.
The Incident
🔎 Witnesses and the victim tell Chatham County Police Department Criminal Investigations Division detectives that the incident happened around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026, on a sandbar in the Ogeechee River near Shad Road. The victim reported that shortly after arriving on the sand bar by jet ski, Ramage began a verbal confrontation. As the victim attempted to leave, he stated Ramage stabbed him. The victim says he then fired his gun and struck Ramage.
The victim left the scene on his jet ski and met law enforcement and EMS at Morgan’s Bridge, and Ramage was dropped off at a nearby fire station for medical assistance. He was then transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
