As these are outdoor events, attendees are encouraged to bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray.

Look for special Books & Brews perks and drink sleeves at participating locally owned coffee and tea shops throughout September.

Are you ready to dance? Let’s jam together at three library locations with energetic live performances! These events are free and open to the public with food trucks available on-site to purchase from.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own outdoor seating. In the event of rain, the bands will move indoors and attendance will be limited.

Meet our 2026 Liberty County Library Ambassador, Dr. Karen Bell, Director of Keep Liberty Beautiful!
At the head of an environmental advocacy program, Dr. Bell is an advocate for lifelong learning, particularly in areas like conservation, physical health, and agriculture. She’s working alongside LOPL to spread the word that library cards enrich the lives of people of all ages.

Meet our 2026 Chatham County Library Ambassador, Dr. Jermaine Whirl, President of Savannah State University!
As the youngest President of an HBCU in history, Dr. Whirl is well-versed in personal development and lifelong education. He’s working alongside LOPL to spread the word that library cards enrich the lives of people of all ages.

As we enter August, we close out Summer Reading Program! We were confident we’d make our 3 million minute goal, but our community exceeded every expectation. We’re proud to be your library!
