May Howard Elementary is proud to partner with CURE Childhood Cancer for our Coins & Clicks 4 a CURE campaign!

Throughout the week, our Hawks can help support childhood cancer research and programs that provide hope and assistance to children and families during their cancer journey.

🌟 FORMER HAWK SPOTLIGHT! 🌟

We often celebrate our amazing May Howard alumni, but it’s also time to shine the spotlight on some of our former employees who continue to soar and do great things! 🦅💙💛

Today we are especially proud to celebrate our former principal, Lesley Taylor! Mrs. Taylor has been named to the Georgia State Literacy Task Force, where she will help evaluate and make recommendations that will impact literacy education for students across Georgia.

Mrs. Taylor poured so much of her heart into May Howard, and we love seeing her continue to make a difference far beyond our walls.

Once a Hawk, always a Hawk! 🦅 Congratulations, Mrs. Taylor! Your May Howard family is so proud of you! 💙💛

🏈🎓 COLLEGE COLORS DAY AT MHES! 🎓🏈

Our Hawks showed up and showed OUT in their college colors today! We loved seeing all the jerseys, T-shirts, hats, and team spirit around May Howard! ❤️💙💜🧡💛

No matter who you cheer for, there was room for EVERY team today… even though we all know the Dawgs and the Eagles were clearly the best dressed. 😉🐶🦅

Just kidding! (Well… mostly. 😂)

All rivalries aside, we loved seeing our Hawks celebrating school spirit, big dreams, and bright futures!

🌟 Brooke Newman, Volunteer Extraordinaire!

Talk about seeing a need and jumping right in! When Brooke spotted this HUGE fallen branch, she didn’t just walk by. She grabbed a saw, chopped it up, and hauled it away! 💪🪚🌳

We are so thankful for volunteers like Brooke who are always willing to roll up their sleeves and help wherever they’re needed. That’s what we call going above and beyond! 💙🤍

🎓 May Howard Alumni Spotlight: Levi Snyder 💙💛

There is something extra special about watching our former Hawks grow up, discover their passions, and begin making their mark on the world!

Today, we are proud to spotlight Levi Snyder, a former May Howard Hawk and 2025 graduate of Islands High School. Levi is currently attending Georgia Southern University, where he is double majoring in Chinese and Spanish and minoring in Arabic. Three languages…we are impressed, Levi!

Levi shares that he currently volunteers as needed as a paramedic with the Chatham Fire Department. Looking toward the future, he hopes to combine his love of languages with his desire to serve others. He is considering a career with SCCPSS or working with the Chatham Fire Department as a full-time interpreter/paramedic.

We love seeing our Hawks spread their wings, follow their passions, and find ways to use their talents to serve their community. We are so proud of you, Levi, and we can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next!
