PATRIOT is a domestic response training exercise sponsored by the National Guard Bureau (NGB) and accredited by the Joint National Training Capability (JNTC) Program. JNTC Accreditation validates the joint environment for participating Services. It also provides a forum for coordination with local, State, and Federal Civilian organizations. PATRIOT focuses on increasing the understanding of coordi
nation, policies, and procedures required in conducting a Joint Inter-Agency domestic response. PATRIOT is designed to provide Total Force realistic DOMOPS training by providing a foundation that allows units to define their unique requirements and build them into the overall exercise scenario. This “BOTTOM-UP” planning philosophy gives commanders the freedom to train their units to their state missions. Utilizing Annual Training Days, coupled with hosting the exercise at a National Guard Bureau Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC), makes the effort extremely cost effective. PATRIOT planners strive to develop cutting edge ways to accomplish training that is relevant, realistic and interesting. PATRIOT is committed to providing an innovative, and cost-effective training exercise as the US military continuously transforms to meet new missions, realignments, and budgetary allocations
