Bria Smith!!!!

Bria Smith, who works in the Superior Court Civil Division/Passports Services, has been with the Clerk of Superior Court’s Office for one year and six months. She aspires to one day vacation in Egypt. Her favorite food is pizza. Her favorite song is “Ribbon in the Sky” by Stevie Wonder.

An interesting tidbit about Bria is that she writes and performs poetry at Open Mic Nights. She describes herself as graceful, loving, and faithful. Her favorite quote is, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!” - Ralph Emerson.

Bria cites Tammie Mosley as her greatest career influence, admiring her as a strong, sweet, and successful career woman who is also a Savannah native. Bria's favorite book is "Their Eyes Were Watching God" by Zora Neale Hurston. Above all, Bria says her greatest joy is being a mom.

What a weekend! In celebration of Madam Clerk's upcoming birthday, our office joined with the Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia for a volunteer Saturday, and along with other volunteers, we successfully packed 1400 bags of 9 items. Each bag weighed about 7 pounds, and in total we distributed over 9,800 pounds of food to elderly communities throughout Chatham County!

Our Annual Board of Equalization Luncheon was a remarkable event. We were pleased to have the Honorable Sonja L. Jackson, Tax Commissioner of Chatham County, as our featured speaker. Madame Tax Commissioner shared important community information and highlighted the valuable services offered by her office.

We also took the opportunity to express our gratitude to three departing board members and extend a warm welcome to five new members joining our team.

We look forward to seeing you in September, when Tax Appeal Season begins.

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of outstanding teens from Elevate Savannah, providing them with an insightful look at the diverse aspects of courthouse life, including the sheriff's office, clerk's office, and courtrooms. We would like to express our thanks to Judge Lisa Colbert for sharing her courtroom and deliberation area with us, and for engaging in a conversation with the teens. This was a wonderful experience for all .
