When you think about who shows up in the aftermath of a disaster, a few organizations probably come to mind. National relief networks, hunger relief organizations, and faith-based emergency response teams mobilize quickly to support affected communities. Their work is essential.

We're grateful for Bank of America's generous $25,000 donation in support of our Kids Cafe Program and for the volunteers who spent time packing breakfast kits for our Summer Feeding Program.

For 37 years, Kids Cafe has helped provide nutritious meals, academic support, and a safe place for children facing hunger. Today, 46,480 children in our 21-county service area are food insecure, making programs like Kids Cafe more important than ever.

Thanks to partners like Bank of America, we're able to serve thousands of meals to children across Coastal Georgia each week during both the school year and summer months.

☀️ School’s out, but hunger doesn’t take a summer break.

Join us and WSAV as we collect kid-friendly food donations to help keep local children fed while school is out. Stop by one of our participating Food Lion locations and donate items like cereal, oatmeal, macaroni and cheese, canned pasta, fruit cups, and other easy-to-prepare foods.

Every donation helps support Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia’s Summer Feeding Program and provides meals for children across our community. 🧡

☀️ The School's Out Summer Food Drive starts today! ☀️

When school is out, many children lose access to the meals they rely on during the school year. That's why WSAV and Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia are teaming up to collect kid-friendly foods for local children this summer.

We're looking for easy-to-open items that children can safely enjoy on their own, including Chef Boyardee, fruit cups, applesauce pouches, granola bars, juice boxes, peanut butter crackers, and other shelf-stable snacks and meals.

📍 Stop by one of the participating Food Lion locations listed below and help make a difference for children in our community.

Free breakfast and lunch are available for all children and teens 18 and under at participating Summer Feeding sites across Coastal Georgia.

This week's menu includes favorites like turkey meatballs, sloppy joes, chicken salad, turkey hot dogs, and mozzarella string cheese with turkey. 🍎🌭🥕🥛

📬 It's hard to believe it's already been a month since the Stamp Out Hunger Letter Carriers' Food Drive!

Because of your support, we collected 56,215 pounds of food to help stock shelves and provide meals for neighbors across Coastal Georgia. 🧡

From everyone who left a donation by their mailbox to the letter carriers, volunteers, and partners who helped make it happen, thank you. Every donation can make a difference.
