Offering Help, Hope, and Hospitality to Homeless Families with Children. Bostick, MSW
Executive Director

Family Promise of Greater Savannah was established in 1997 to alleviate homelessness among families with children by providing emergency shelter, meals, and comprehensive support. To accomplish this goal, Family Promise utilizes a network of Host Congregations, where the families stay overni

ght each evening and have dinner, fellowship and activities with volunteers, who are motivated to help them succeed. After dinner, each family retires to a private room on the congregation’s property. In the morning, breakfast is provided, bag lunches are packed, and the Family promise van returns the families to the Day Center. The Day Center serves as a home-base for the families--giving them an address and access to a phone and services. Families enjoy the comfort of a Living Room, Computer Lab, After-school Room, and Playroom; which is designated for their use. Additionally, bath and laundry facilities are also available. Guest are assigned to a Case Manager who assists them in developing a self sufficiency plan designed to address their financial, educational, housing, and employment needs geared towards self sufficiency and sustainable independence.
