The best way to serve a community is to be present in it. 🤝🏽🏘️

Today, Sheriff Coleman and his deputies spent time walking Savannah’s westside neighborhoods, meeting residents, listening to concerns, sharing conversations, and connecting with people of all ages. 🚶🏽‍♂️💬❤️

From front porches to sidewalks, every conversation matters. Building trust starts with showing up, and today’s walk was another opportunity to strengthen relationships and hear directly from the people who call these neighborhoods home. 🏡👂🏽

Thank you to everyone who stopped to talk, wave, and join us during the walk and Facebook Live. 👋🏽📱 Together, we continue building safer and stronger communities through visibility, communication, and partnership. 💙🖤

We are proud to serve this community together. ⭐🚔

“See your name everywhere.” — Richard S. Coleman 🔥

A powerful message shared during last week’s graduation ceremony at Coastal State Prison 🎓

Moments later, an inmate speaker echoed those same words…a reminder that growth, accountability, and second chances begin with believing your story is not over. 🙏🏽

A moving and dignified ceremony that reflected hope, hard work, redemption, and the power of a new chapter. 💙 🫱🏻‍🫲🏾

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Their courage, selflessness, and dedication to protecting the freedoms we enjoy will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and loved ones this Memorial Day, let us also take a moment to reflect on those who gave everything in service to others.

The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office proudly remembers and honors our fallen heroes.

Graduation week continues across Chatham County, and deputies with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office are proud to support families celebrating life’s milestone moments at Enmarket Arena.

Throughout the day, deputies assisted elderly family members entering ceremonies, helped motorists navigate heavy traffic, answered questions for excited families, and even assisted a mother-to-be as she made her way to celebrate a graduate.

Behind every cap and gown is a family, a story, and a community cheering them on. As schools across Chatham County continue honoring the Class of 2026, we are honored to play a small role in helping make these moments safe, joyful, and memorable.

“Graduation is more than a ceremony. It represents hard work, perseverance, family support, and the promise of a brighter future. We are proud to stand alongside our community as we celebrate the achievements of these students.” — Richard S. Coleman 🎓

Before the caps and gowns, every journey begins with a story. 📚

Today, Richard S. Coleman spent time reading with a Pre-K class at White Bluff Elementary School, sharing smiles, stories, and a reminder that learning begins long before graduation day.

At the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, community connection starts early. Whether supporting students crossing the stage or encouraging young minds in the classroom, we are proud to invest in the future of Chatham County — one child, one family, and one moment at a time. 💙
