Last April we lost a dear friend. Chad Fulton was a strong member of our organization, the comedic relief on our board and most importantly our friend. In honor of Chad's time with our organization we have founded the Chad Fulton- Friend of the chamber award. This award will be presented annually at our banquet to a community organization or entity- chosen by our board that has been a crucial player in the chamber's success that year. Not financially, but servantly. An organization that contributes exponentially to our day to day success. Far beyond what their organization's duty calls them to do.
This year we presented Chad's daughter and future son in law with a plaque representing our intention to honor their dad with the founding of this award.
We found it most appropriate that the inaugural award be presented to the Savannah Fire Department. Chad served his community in so many ways including alongside his fire family. We thank them for their never ending support of our organization. They have worked alongside us to provide emergency medical responders for our events to ensure everyone is safe, worked numerous touch a trucks, hosted our emergency services update breakfast, helped us bring our courtyard to life for Christmas, headed our Candlelight parade and more than a handful of times been the “boots on the ground” when we need extra hands. We know that Chad would have agreed that they deserve this recognition. We are thankful to know them, work with them and call them friends.
