SPD will be assisting with the Rotary/Savannah Christmas Parade this evening 12/2. The parade route will run from Shell Street to the intersection of Bridge and Main. SPD will close thru traffic on Wayne Road and Main Street at approximately 6:20 p.m. and the parade will commence at 6:30 p.m. sharp.

Please expect traffic delays in town and heavy congestion as crowds gather for the parade and then demobilize afterwards.

Please use extra caution and watch for pedestrians.

I want express my “Thanks” to the Savannah Rotary Club for the wonderful parade that happened in Savannah last night. It was my first to participate in as a city commissioner and I enjoyed getting to walk the route and pass out candy! Thanks to all the participants who put in extra effort to decorate and participate in this great event. Most of all thanks to all that came and watched! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
