🏡 Good News for Homeowners!

Missed the April 1 deadline to apply for a Property Tax Exemption? You can still have an opportunity to save on your property taxes.

Recent legislation has extended the filing period until the Property Assessment Appeal Deadline.

Ask Yourself: Do you have a Homestead Exemption on your property?

✔ Yes? You do not need to reapply. However, you may be eligible for additional property tax savings through:

🔹 Senior Exemptions (available for qualifying homeowners age 62 or older)
🔹 Disability Exemptions
🔹 Veterans Exemptions for qualifying disabled veterans

✔ No? If you own and occupy your home as your primary residence, you may be eligible to apply for a Homestead Exemption and also qualify for additional exemptions.

Today, we’re honored to recognize Anthony Osborne, a proud United States Air Force veteran whose family has a long tradition of public service. 🇺🇸

Anthony shared that his sister serves Chatham County and that his mother dedicated her career to serving the City of Savannah, continuing a legacy of commitment to the community.

We are grateful for Anthony’s military service and for the generations of his family who have worked to make our community stronger. It was a pleasure serving him today, and we thank him for his sacrifice, his kindness, and his family’s lasting contributions to the citizens of Chatham County and Savannah.

🏡 Property Tax Exemption Deadline Extended

Missed the April 1 deadline? Good news—it's not too late! Recent legislation has extended the filing deadline until the appeal deadline.

Ask yourself:
✅ Did you own and live in your home on January 1?
✅ Is it your primary residence?

If so, you may still be eligible to apply for a Homestead Exemption.

Already receiving the Homestead and Stephens-Day exemptions? You may also qualify for additional property tax savings, including:
🔹 Senior Exemptions – Available for homeowners age 62 and older
🔹 Disability Exemption – For individuals with a qualifying disability who are unable to work
🔹 Veterans Exemption – For disabled veterans with a 100% service-connected disability rating or compensation at the 100% disability rate

Every child deserves a place where they are seen, supported, and inspired to dream bigger.

As a proud member of the Board of Directors, I had the pleasure of touring the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club and seeing firsthand the incredible work happening for our youth every day. From academic support and leadership development to STEAM, sports, fitness, recreation, and mentorship, this Club continues to be a safe and powerful space for children to learn, grow, and thrive.

Its impact speaks for itself, helping shape successful young leaders like Flau’Jae Johnson, Nolan Smith Jr., and the many returning mentors who come back to pour into the next generation.
