πŸ—’βœοΈThe City’s Planning Commission is seeking public input on their large project/purchase priorities for the 2027-2033 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The CIP is an annually updated list of projects and purchases with a cost of at least $10,000 and a several-year lifespan. The City Commission uses the CIP to assist in prioritizing funding for the coming fiscal year to ensure that funds are spent in such a way as to maximize their positive impact on the community.
The existing 6-year CIP list can be viewed on our website at:

What if adding more housing to existing neighborhoods did not require dramatically changing what those neighborhoods look like?

Chuck Marohn and Andrew Mikula discuss why communities need to rethink what is possible in existing neighborhoods and make room for simple, incremental approaches to adding more homes.

Sault Area Public Schools is thrilled to announce that multiple new middle school Career & Technical Education pathways will open at Sault Area Secondary School!

With over $1 million in support from the State of Michigan, combined with strong local investment, the vision championed by our Community Coalition is becoming a reality. We are creating opportunities for students to discover their talents and plan for their futures long before graduation.

By launching these programs for grades 6–8, students can explore their interests early, positioning them to take full advantage of advanced high school CTE courses, work‑based learning, and industry certifications.

This is a major step forward for student opportunity in the Sault.
