I never was much into being in the political war that goes on in our state. I live a peaceful life while working hard everyday to make sure my family is taken care of when I’m gone from this earth. I have struggled through life just to make the bills and greatly understand the struggle everyone goes through here in our state. I ran because I think I can bring help to those in our state by making the right votes when needed. I will do my best to secure funding for our county. I will look into the tax breaks the land companies get and try and make them pay there fair share. I will look into health care and pharmacy to see what the problem is and how I can suggest making it better. I will look into welfare and try and suggest that if a person is laid off from work they should be first in line for help. I will look into funding for water for southern wv. I will give my thoughts on our schools systems to make it better. I will suggest more severance tax to go to the county we’re minerals are extracted. I will be helping insure money is being used for the right cause in our state. I will take myself out of the equation and vote for the majority of my county. Life is full of disappointment and every one won’t be happy in this county but we can make it a better place to live if we try to start working together and compromise with each other on bills and laws being passed. Well that’s me and if you vote for me Tuesday I thank you in advance and if you don’t I respect you just as I allways have.

The Appalachian Times and Appalachia First are proud to endorse John Morgan for Delegate: District 35.

John Morgan is a man who represents the backbone of southern West Virginia. He spent 26 years working in the coal industry, including 12 years as a union coal miner, living the same struggles and sacrifices that generations of Appalachian families know all too well. He understands hard work because he has lived it. He understands the coalfields because they are his home.

After his years in the mines, John continued building the infrastructure that powers this country by managing major energy and power projects worth millions of dollars. From substations and transmission lines to environmental and energy development projects, he has spent decades leading teams, solving problems, balancing responsibility, and delivering results in the real world instead of making empty political promises.

John Morgan believes southern West Virginia has been ignored for far too long.

For generations, the southern coalfields helped build the rest of this state through our labor, our resources, and our sacrifice, yet many of our communities have been left behind when it comes to investment, infrastructure, jobs, and economic development. John understands that revitalizing the coalfields is not charity. It is justice.

He believes state revenue generated from our energy and natural resources should be reinvested directly back into the communities that produced it. That means better roads, modern water systems, broadband expansion, workforce development, and real economic opportunity for the people who carried West Virginia on their backs for decades.

John Morgan is also a strong defender of constitutional rights and Appalachian values. He is unapologetically pro-Second Amendment and believes law-abiding West Virginians should never have their freedoms infringed upon by out-of-touch politicians in Washington. He understands that in Appalachia, the right to bear arms is not just politics. It is part of our culture, our heritage, and our freedom.

At a time when many politicians sound the same and stand for nothing, John Morgan brings real-world experience, working-class values, and a deep commitment to the people of Wyoming County and southern West Virginia.

The Appalachian Times and Appalachia First proudly stand with John Morgan because Appalachia deserves leaders who come from the people, understand the people, and will fight for the people.

I refrain from making public declarations, as I prefer not to make promises that may not be fulfilled. There are 100 delegates, and the majority will prevail. My motivation for running for delegate stems from my deep roots in Wyoming County, where I raised my family and desire for my children to have the same opportunity to raise their families here. Having worked in the mines of Wyoming County, I have personally experienced the physical toll it takes, resulting in my contraction of black lung disease without adequate compensation for my sacrifices to the industry. Consequently, I will advocate for the rights of miners and workers across all industries. I have endured layoffs, shutdowns, and the struggle of living paycheck to paycheck. As a former business owner, I am familiar with the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in this county. Our state needs representatives who have experienced the realities of everyday life. It is challenging for individuals who have not faced similar struggles to make informed decisions. I was raised with the value of assisting my neighbors and have endeavored to uphold this principle throughout my life. Although I have made mistakes, I have consistently strived to learn from them and contribute positively to my community and friendships. What I aim to convey is that I will not make promises that cannot be kept, but I will ensure that my vote solely benefits the lives of West Virginia residents. We have a great community of people here in Wyoming county that needs water infrastructure and business to have jobs. There are many things I have planned to work on if elected and will discuss with anyone who wishes to reach out. I’m willing to listen to any concerns the citizens have. I have turned down some endorsements because I don’t want to be tied down to anyone other than the constituents of our county.

We need to reduce taxes and cut unnecessary government spending. Families and businesses in West Virginia are already carrying enough of a burden, and it is time for the government to tighten its belt instead of reaching deeper into the pockets of taxpayers.

Lower taxes mean more money in the hands of working people, more growth for small businesses, and more opportunity for our communities. When government gets smaller, freedom gets bigger. We need a tax system that rewards work, encourages investment, and supports the people who are trying to build a better life.

At the same time, we must get serious about spending reform. Waste, duplication, and bloated bureaucracy drain resources that should be going to roads, schools, public safety, and economic development. Every dollar government spends is a dollar taken from a taxpayer, and we owe it to the people of West Virginia to manage those dollars responsibly.

I will fight for a simpler, fairer tax system, lower taxes on working families, and spending cuts that reduce government waste. We cannot keep growing government and expect our economy to grow with it. Real prosperity starts with fiscal responsibility and respect for the people who pay the bills.

I attended my first center-right meeting, which featured excellent speakers who shed light on several key issues that have been and continue to be addressed. Hearing from individuals who have dedicated considerable time and effort to this state's causes behind the scenes was truly motivating.
