🚒 AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE GRAND VALLEY AREA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT 🚒
The Grand Valley Area Volunteer Fire Department depends on the support of the residents and property owners in our fire district.
More than 95% of our department’s funding comes from the annual $100 membership dues paid by property owners in our district. They are absolutely essential to keeping our fire department operating.
Unfortunately, membership dues payments this year are down compared with previous years.
We want our community to understand what is at stake. The money received from membership dues helps pay for the equipment, maintenance, fuel, insurance, training, protective gear, and other expenses necessary to maintain a functioning volunteer fire department.
Without sufficient participation from our community, the Grand Valley Area Volunteer Fire Department simply cannot continue to operate.
If our department were forced to close, emergency response would have to come from a department much farther away. That could mean significantly longer response times when minutes matter most.
It could also have a serious financial impact on property owners. The loss of nearby fire protection may affect fire-protection ratings and could result in substantial increases in homeowners insurance premiums, depending on your insurance company and policy.
Your $100 annual membership isn't just a donation to the fire department—it is an investment in the safety and protection of our entire community.
