Today is a proud day for Satsuma Fire Rescue as we congratulate Thomas Harper on his graduation from the Fire Academy! 🚒🎓

As Fire Chief, I could not be more proud of Thomas and the hard work, dedication, and commitment he has shown to reach this milestone. He has already proven himself to be a valuable asset to Satsuma Fire Rescue, and this achievement is just the beginning of a strong and meaningful career in the fire service.

I, along with every member of our department, look forward to many years of service alongside Thomas as he continues to grow, learn, and serve our community with pride and professionalism. Congratulations, Thomas—we are proud to call you one of our own.

THANK YOU! Many thanks to all who participated in our parade and also to those of you who lined the streets as we passed by. We appreciate your patience as we had to bump back a day due to the rain yesterday.

🚨PARADE UPDATE 🚨
The parade has been rescheduled to this Sunday, December 7th at 2:30pm. This will coincide with the Christmas in Satsuma Arts and Crafts event at Baldwin Square.

✔️Check-in begins at 1:00pm.
✔️Parade rolls at 2:30pm along the route shown in the photo.
✔️Float or vehicle entry registration will be taken until 2:00pm Sunday.
✔️Check-in will end at 2:15pm to allow SFD personnel to get in place.
⚠️Floats will assemble in the football stadium parking lot until they are directed to be lined up behind SHS.

We have been watching several different weather apps and been in discussion with Brent regarding the event in Baldwin Square. In efforts to avoid interfering with other planned Christmas events, we feel this is the best plan for both events. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing everyone this Sunday!

Our guys are meeting Friday morning and will make a determination regarding the parade scheduled for Saturday. Our ultimate goal is to align with the Christmas in Satsuma arts and crafts show at Baldwin Square.

More details will follow by 9:30am Friday.

✔️Check-in begins at 830am.

Satsuma Fire Rescue is excited to announce that we are now using WiFi fire hydrants to refill our fire engines. With this cutting-edge technology, road closures are no longer necessary during a fire. This will significantly enhance our operational efficiency, ensuring that we are better equipped to protect and serve our community in emergencies. Embracing this advancement is essential for improving our firefighting capabilities and community safety. The days of using expensive, heavy hoses from the hydrant to the engine are over!

Parade Float Check in Procedure:
Check-in will begin at 930am.
Enter by the baseball field house on Maple Ave East to check in. You will then be asked to stage in the football stadium parking lot, or directed to proceed to the lineup area.
At 11am, the parade will roll north on Old Hwy 43 from SHS and end at Magnolia Avenue, where it will turn east, and then south on Second Street to return to SHS.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask a member of SFD or SPD.

As you come get your Satsuma Chevron breakfast gumbo, come see us this morning for our annual bucket drop for Christmas cheer with Satsuma Police Dept! All donations are appreciated and put right back into the community. We will be here from 8-10am.
