It is my last week here at the HEAT Program and I could not have had a better experience. Watching the progression from all athletes and participants that have come was amazing. Some gained muscle, some raised their vertical by two inches, and others had a lot more energy, but every single one of them left the program feeling better about themselves. Other interns like me are always here at the HEAT Program and are constantly looking to help more people interested in fitness. If you have a sport starting soon or just looking to get into shape, the HEAT Program is perfect for any age. You have my word that it is definitely worth it!

Being a professional at the HEAT Program, I know it is not good to show favoritism or biased opinions on the athletes. However, with an older boy and a younger girl here, it is extremely hard. What both of these two great athletes possess is motivation and determination. These two have honestly made a huge impact on me in just the couple weeks that they have been attending the program. Whether their workout is a plyo or run, they always seem to be trying to make themselves better by pushing their limits. I will always enjoy coaching and teaching kids of all ages, but these are the kind of athletes that make me love my job. The ones that always strive for more, will always go the furthest in the end.

I have been getting questions about what healthy and nutrition products I have been in to. HERBALIFE!! I love these products, and I have no doubt that you could too. Herbalife has a variety of protein based shakes, protein snacks, and even multivitamins for all ages.

What many of you participants do not understand is how important nutrition is, especially for an athlete. It has been proven that nutrition is the best way to improve performance in any sport, as well as keep your body and life healthy.

With many of our recent participants, we have found many people like to come in pairs or in groups. This is great for athletes because it gives good competition to work with and against. You are helping each other by pushing each other.

Flexibility is something that we work on every day here at the HEAT Program. For each participant, we require a stretch after their warmup and a post workout static stretch. The purpose of these times is to cool the body down and improve range of motion while muscles are still warm. We have 13 important stretches to use for every part of the body.

Cardio is another important part of the program. With 25-30 minutes of cardio at each session, we try to create a base for endurance in each of our athletes. Whether it is running, biking, elliptical, stair stepper, or walking, we make sure to keep your body moving.

With our sports specific programs, we offer weight training. Each workout consists of 8-9 lifts for every session after the cardio. Our program consists of both free weights and machines. Our huge variety of lifts are perfect to meet our participants workout goals.

If you find yourself being out of breath walking up the stairs, or trouble picking up a couple heavier boxes, we can help!

In the last twenty years, obesity in children has almost tripled. By increasing physical activity, we are helping athletes take the first steps to a more healthy and leaner life. Starting in our program, we work with your own abilities. If you are not able to do certain workouts, our trainers will help ease you into them. We are here to push our participants, but not injure them or make them not like it here.

Being that it is almost time for a new sports season, it would be a great idea to come on down to the HEAT Program and get ready to be in shape!

Plyometrics at the Program are all about explosive movement. Whether it is on the floor or on a box, we are teaching athletes and participants to work on side to side and back and forth movement. By working on these moves, our athletes find themselves getting faster, quicker, and stronger. In my own opinion, I think the plyometric workouts are the most beneficial days of the program.

Remember if you have had any previous injuries, the HEAT Program will help be your rehab to a healthy full recovery.

Weight Training at the HEAT Program is all based on your own specific sport program. With our big focus on proper technique, we will personally be your coaches and trainers and help throughout your entire workout program. All of our weight lifting is targeted to all the major muscle groups of the body. Depending on the sport, we look at the quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, abdomen, back, biceps and triceps.

With our core strength for the participants, our goal is to help them achieve a stronger more stable core musculature. We want to improve body control, stability, and balance, as well as improving energy balance from the lower body to upper body. From our workouts, we hope to prevent injures and create a better posture from our teaching technique.
