🏐 THE DAY IS FINALLY HERE! 💚💙
Tonight, the Cross-Town Volleyball Showdown takes over Riverview Stadium as Sartell takes on Sauk Rapids-Rice in Central Minnesota’s first-ever outdoor volleyball match!
And this rivalry comes with a little extra on the line… 👀

🏆 THE MAYORS’ WAGER
Mayor Fitzthum of Sartell and Mayor Ellering of Sauk Rapids have made a friendly wager: the losing mayor must wear the other city’s school shirt at the next City Council meeting!
So, whose mayor will be sporting the opposing colors? 😏
Come out to Riverview Stadium and cheer on your city for a night of volleyball, community pride, and some good old-fashioned cross-town rivalry!

🏐 JV — 4:00 PM
🏐 Varsity — 6:00 PM
📍 Riverview Stadium

Let’s pack the stadium and see who takes the bragging rights! 🏐💚💙

The City of Sartell is excited to begin much-needed roadway improvements on Leander Avenue between Heritage Drive and just south of Scout and Dehler Drives. The project will include pavement rehabilitation, minor roadway widening, and shoulder improvements to create a smoother and safer roadway for all.

Here is what you need to know:
Construction begins September 15

Leander Avenue will be closed to through traffic for approximately one week

Roadway expected to reopen by September 22 (weather permitting)

Advance road closure signs will be installed beginning the week of September 9. Please review the attached project map for construction limits and detour information.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we make these important improvements. We look forward to providing a safer, smoother, and more reliable roadway for our community!

Happy back to school week! Let’s keep everyone safe by slowing down and using caution- especially around buses 🚌🥳 thanks for the reminders, Sartell Public Safety!

🚌 SCHOOL BUS SAFETY: KNOW WHAT THE LIGHTS MEAN

Back-to-school season is here! As students begin returning to school next week, different grades will start on different days throughout the week. That means each day will bring more buses, more students at bus stops, and busier morning and afternoon traffic.

Now is a great time to refresh yourself on what those flashing school bus lights mean:

🟡 Yellow flashing lights = SLOW DOWN.
The bus is preparing to stop. Be alert, reduce your speed, and prepare to stop.

🔴 Red flashing lights = STOP.
Drivers must stop at least 20 feet from the bus and remain stopped while the red lights are flashing.

As school routines pick back up, give yourself a little extra time, stay alert around bus stops, and watch for students who may be crossing the road.

The City of Sartell has permitted bow hunting within City limits on qualifying properties- check it out if you’re interested!

Bow Hunting Permits Now Available

With bow hunting season almost upon us, the City of Sartell would like to remind residents that bow hunting is now permitted within city limits on qualifying private property with an approved City permit.

Bow hunting is limited to private property with at least 5 contiguous acres and is not allowed on City-owned property, parks, trails, school property, commercial properties, or high-density residential properties.

To help ensure the safety of residents and surrounding properties, hunters must follow all required setbacks, Minnesota DNR hunting regulations, obtain landowner permission when hunting on property they do not own, and successfully obtain a city bow hunting permit before hunting within city limits. All permit applications will be reviewed and approved by the Sartell Police Division.

Interested in applying or learning more? Visit the link below to apply for a permit and find complete information on the City’s bow hunting rules, regulations, and safety requirements:
https://www.sartellmn.com/services/police_department/forms.php

Please review all requirements carefully before applying.
