St. Cloud Morning Optimist Club To aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one's self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind.

Purpose of the Optimist Club

To develop Optimism as a philosophy of life as stated in the Optimist Creed; To promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs;
•To inspire respect for law;
• To promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people; To aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one's self in service t

o others will advance the well-being of humankind, community life and the world. Optimist Clubs conduct positive service projects aimed at providing a helping hand to youth.

This morning, we awarded certificates and a $200 donation to a non-profit of their choosing, to honor our annual Respect For Law nominees. Sheriff Steve Soyka, a club member, organized and emceed the event.
