We’ll be out here collecting donations to help support the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and every little bit makes a difference.

But you don’t have to bring a donation to come see us! If you just want to stop by, say hello, chat with the firefighters, or see what we’re all about, we’d love to visit with you. 👋

🚒❤️ SARCOXIE RURAL FIRE DEPARTMENT IS FILLING THE BOOT FOR MDA! ❤️🚒

Starting Friday evening and continuing through Labor Day, you’ll see members of the Sarcoxie Rural Fire Department and some of our local kids out at High Street & Highway 37 helping us Fill the Boot for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

🥾 Every donation, big or small, makes a difference and helps support MDA and the families they serve. If you’re able, please consider stopping by and helping us fill that boot!

⚠️ PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION!

As you approach High Street & Highway 37, please slow down, stay alert, and watch for our firefighters and children in the roadway collecting donations. Your safety—and theirs—is our top priority.

Current and forecasted dry weather conditions with frequent emergency fire responses already occurred in the area are demonstrating it is dangerous and unfavorable for safe outdoor burning. Effective 9/1/26 a Burn Ban has been issued for the City of Sarcoxie until further notice.

With persistent dry conditions (D1 - Moderate status on the U.S. Drought Monitor) and forecasted hot/dry conditions continuing, the risk of fire danger in our area is elevated.

Please take extra precautions:
✅ Avoid unnecessary burning.
✅ Never leave fires unattended.
✅ Keep water or a fire extinguisher nearby.

Your awareness and caution can help prevent wildfires. Stay tuned for updates on burning conditions in our area.

🚒 Big news! Sarcoxie Rural Fire Protection District has been awarded a $10,000 grant from and to help us purchase an air bag kit and rescue struts. This support helps us protect our community and keep our firefighters safe. Thank you for being a !

🚒 Hydrant Testing Is Underway! 💧

Tonight, our firefighters spent the evening out testing fire hydrants throughout part of our district to help ensure they are ready when they’re needed most.

Hydrant testing helps us:
✅ Verify water flow and pressure
✅ Identify hydrants that need maintenance or repairs
✅ Ensure reliable water supply for emergency response
✅ Keep our community better protected

This was just one evening of testing. We still have additional areas to cover and will be scheduling more hydrant testing days in the near future until every hydrant in our district has been inspected.

Thank you to our firefighters who volunteer their time to complete these important tasks. Your dedication helps keep our department prepared and our community safe.

If you experience temporary discolored water after testing in your area, simply run your cold water for a few minutes until it clears.

Sarcoxie Rural Fire will be doing up keep on fire hydrant in town. If this disrupts the quality of water please call and leave a message at City Hall at 417-548-7242 or message us on Facebook. Public works has flushed the water lines to hopefully pervent any discoloration. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.
