It is unlawful to fire a gun within city limits. This map shows the city's boundaries, which extend into the foothills, and how the state and city codes apply to those boundaries.

If you are going shooting, please check that you are outside city limits and more than 600 feet away from any residence or structure. Located just south of town, the free Soldier Pass shooting range provides local shooters with an excellent and accessible place to practice.

The city code 10.10.04. Fi****ms can be found on the city’s website https://www.saratogasprings-ut.gov/DocumentCenter/View/532/Title-10---Public-Peace-Safety-Welfare-and-Morals?bidId=

The state code 76-10-508 can be found on the Utah State Legislature website: https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter10/C76-10-S508_2023050320230701.pdf

Our department will be conducting increased patrols and issuing citations to violators.

The State of Utah has issued a **Stage 1 Fire Restriction Order** for unincorporated areas of Utah County due to extremely dry conditions and elevated wildfire risk.
These restrictions prohibit activities such as open fires (except in approved locations), fireworks, exploding targets, tracer ammunition, and other activities that can create sparks in dry vegetation.
We encourage target shooters to utilize the FREE shooting range at Soldier Pass just south of the City.
We appreciate Mayor Carn and the many local leaders who joined together to request additional restrictions to help protect our communities, residents, first responders, and natural landscapes during this period of heightened fire danger.
Thank you to:
• Mayor Wyatt Cook, Cedar Fort
• Mayor Jared Gray, Eagle Mountain
• Mayor Hollie McKinney, Fairfield
• Mayor Paul Binns, Lehi
• Utah County Commission Chair Skyler Beltran
We encourage everyone to use extra caution outdoors and do their part to help prevent wildfires.

Running a red light is dangerous and puts everyone on the road at risk. This includes making a right turn on red without first coming to a complete stop. Attempting to beat a changing traffic signal or ignoring it altogether can lead to serious collisions, injuries, and traffic violations.

A yellow traffic signal is a warning that the light is about to turn red. If it is safe to do so, you should stop when the light turns yellow. Exercising patience and waiting a few extra seconds is far better than risking a crash or receiving a citation. Please help improve roadway safety by always coming to a complete stop at red lights.

Saratoga Springs Police Department is seeing far too many occurrences of traffic signal violations and has directed its Traffic Unit and Patrol Units to step up enforcement measures on these and other traffic violations.
