📍 Saratoga Springs, NY The 65+ members of the Rotary Club of Saratoga Springs (NY) meet weekly (the first three Wednesdays of the month) for breakfast and a program at The Embassy Suites, Wednesdays, 7:45-8:45. The fourth Wednesday of the month we have a Happy Hour event at a local establishment. The Club's annual late-winter Home Show is its major fundraiser.

The Saratoga Springs Rotary Club is pleased to support C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios by purchasing art kits for its 2026 Summer Meals Collaborative program. This program is based on CREATEs model that integrates creative mindfulness, expressive arts, and social-emotional learning into structured programs led by trained teaching artists and facilitators.

CREATE helps community members feel safe and connected in their social emotional growth and mental health journey, by making therapeutic expressive arts affordable and accessible to people of ALL AGES and abilities.

The Rotary Club had the opportunity to hear from Derek Tefft of the Saratoga Center for the Family at a recent meeting.

The Saratoga Center for the Family works to strengthen children, families, and our community by reducing the effects of abuse, trauma, and family dysfunction through advocacy, education and mental health therapy. Derek is the Capital Campaign & Community Engagement Director for Saratoga Center for the Family.

The Saratoga Springs Rotary Education Foundation is proud to announce the 2026 Awards Ceremony will take place at Skidmore College on June 17th. The Rotary Club of Saratoga Springs will be awarding over $100,000 in scholarships to local students this year.

We are pleased to have teacher, coach and community volunteer Shane Zanetti as our guest speaker this year. Entertainment will be provided by former scholarship winner Andre Culpepper-Wehr and the Culpepper-Wehr Trio.

Meet Saratoga Springs Rotary Club member Andrea Backus

Tell us a little about yourself (profession, career, family, interests). How long have you been a Rotarian?

I am a Graduate of the University of Vermont, with a BA in Art History. I am a founder and serial entrepreneur. I build businesses and strategic exits for middle market business owners. Born and raised in Glens Falls, NY. I have relatives in various parts of Italy and love to visit them often. I am a licensed realtor based in Saratoga Springs with connections to Woodstock, NY and Manhattan, NY.

What was appealing to you about the Rotary Club, why did you join?
I've been seeking ways to have a positive impact on my community for some time and joining Rotary just made sense to me

What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I enjoy traveling to different countries to explore diverse cultures and systems. I practice Traditional Chinese medicine, creative arts, and a holistic approach to living well.

What could others gain from being a Rotarian, why join?
If you're thinking about joining Rotary and you want to commit the time, there is no limit to what you can achieve. Rotary is a welcoming group who seeks to support community growth and non-profit organization. If you have specific experience you wish to teach others about, Rotary is the vehicle to start with.

The Saratoga Springs Rotary Club is pleased to again support the Bikeatoga as they prepare for their Foliage Ride October 10-11, 2026. This year we celebrate our history as a Victory at Saratoga Siege Weekend Event.

The Saratoga Foliage Ride highlights hundreds of miles of scenic, low-traffic cycling routes surrounding our City in the country. Fields, farmland & Saratoga history are all part of the ride!

The Saratoga Springs Rotary Club had the privilege of welcoming Lois Celeste from the Saratoga Senior Center to speak at a recent meeting. Lois shared the extreme negative impacts of social isolation and shared the things they are doing to help seniors. Thank you Lois for sharing your time!

Lois Celeste is the Executive Director of the Saratoga Senior Center. Since 1955 the mission of the Saratoga Senior Center is to empower seniors to achieve and maintain personal independence and individual well-being by providing the program structure and support services necessary for healthy recreation, companionship, social involvement, and problem solving.
