We Remember. We Honor. We Will Never Forget.

On September 11, 2001, our nation witnessed an unimaginable tragedy that changed our country forever.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives, including the firefighters, police officers, EMS providers, and other first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger to help others.

We also remember the families who lost loved ones and the countless people whose lives were forever changed that day.

As members of the fire service, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and commitment demonstrated by those who answered the call on September 11, 2001.

We remember their names.
We honor their sacrifice.
We will never forget.

🚲 RIDE SMART. RIDE SAFE.

If you’re riding your bike on the road, remember to travel in the same direction as traffic and stay as far to the right as safely possible. Always wear a properly fitted helmet, stay visible, follow traffic signs and signals, and remain alert to the vehicles and people around you. Drivers and cyclists both have a role to play in keeping our roads safe. Share the road and look out for one another!

🎒🚍 School is starting, and it’s time to slow down and stay alert!

Please watch for children near schools, bus stops, and crosswalks, put the phone away while driving, and always buckle up. Always obey the law when a school bus has its red flashing lights activated and stop as required.

Did you know? Even fire trucks must stop for a school bus displaying red flashing lights. No emergency response takes priority over keeping children safe as they enter or exit the bus.

Let’s work together to make sure every student gets to and from school safely!

August has come to an end, and we are thrilled to welcome September!

Throughout August, the dedicated members of the Greenfield Fire District responded to 66 calls for service, always ready to assist our community whenever needed.

Have you ever considered becoming a volunteer firefighter? We are constantly seeking new members to join our team. Visit us any Tuesday evening to meet our members, tour the station, and discover how you can make a positive impact on your community.

Robert Williams is a proud member of Maple Avenue. We would like to recognize and sincerely thank Robert for his service and response efforts during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to Robert and to all of the first responders who answered the call that day, as well as those who continue to serve and protect our communities every day.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution observing the 25th anniversary of 9/11, honoring the memory of those who lost their lives and calling on residents to observe this solemn occasion with remembrance, reflection, and gratitude to those who served. The Board also recognized four local residents with personal connections to the events of that day and provided them with a ceremonial copy of the resolution.

Joe Fodera, Halfmoon Town Justice, was an NYPD detective who was at the towers on 9/11 and was assigned to the site for months afterward.

Robert “Bobby” Williams, former Saratoga Springs Fire Chief, was a former member of the NY-TF 2 Urban Search and Rescue team and served as a rescue technician specialist deployed to New York City during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Tamim Fares, a U.S. Army sergeant and Saratoga County Veterans Service Officer, served in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of the Global War on Terror following the 9/11 attacks.

Frank Tatum, a Stillwater resident, lost his mother, Diane Moore Parsons, who worked in the towers and was killed on 9/11. He represented 9/11 victims’ families for many years.

🚨 Consider smoke alarms with strobe lights, bed shakers, or other accessibility features

🚨 Make sure all household members know what to do if an alarm sounds

Tonight our members attend the annual Tunnels for Towers Valley Cats baseball game. It was a great night out supporting a great cause.
