Introducing the amazing new Sisters Club at Ewaso village. It is a fun and safe place for girls to gather, learn, play and discuss topics of concern to them. Their voices are heard, their community is strengthened and they are empowered!

Thank you, Modester Ellie and Tina Langdok for asking me to create the new logo. I can't wait to come and experience the Sisters Club in person. Your passion and dedication to community is always impressive. Love you to the moon, Sisters.

Wishes of happy and successful events over the holidays to you all!

One of our wonderful board members, Anne, just returned home from a successful trip to Ewaso. She was able to meet some of the incredible Chui Mamas as well as some of the children at the wildlife children’s center. She returned home with many ideas for projects focusing on conservation and water resources.

In a recent trip to the Ewaso Village, LCCF Trustees Chip Duncan and Tina Langdok were reunited with friends throughout the region to share Chip's book "Ewaso Village" with the incredible people who were the inspiration behind the book. During the trip, they were also able to visit with the Chui Mamas to see their new headquarters and some of their beautiful handmade beadwork, and spend time with Ambrose Letoulai, an LCCF scholarship recipient who went on to co-found the Chui Mamas and pursue a career in wildlife preservation, focusing on educating local children.

On January 8, the Loisaba Community Conservation Foundation (LCCF) in partnership with the Loisaba Community Trust (LCT) and Pankaj, distributed 500 food packages to the most vulnerable families within the Ewaso community. A total of 1,500 households benefited from the food packages.

The Ewaso community is still facing extremely challenging times due to severe drought, which has impacted the region for over three years. The drought has not only affected the community’s food supply, but also the livelihoods of the community members who rely on livestock as their main source of income. The food prices have doubled while the market for livestock has remained very low due to livestock death driven by the drought.

LCCF will continue working on food distribution efforts to provide further relief to the Ewaso community. If you are interested in donating to LCCF’s next food distribution event, please visit our website (http://www.loisabaccf.org/). One hundred percent of all donations to LCCF will go directly to this initiative.
