What did our City Administration know and when did they know it?
If our government was throwing people in jail for no crime committed, no charges and no due process just to fill its coffers with fine money, our country would be furious; but this is exactly what is happening in Saratoga Springs under the nose of our city council and mayor.
To what degree is this a combination of incompetence and a cover up?
City officials have said they didn't know about it or that they have no power. We know that many citizens have tried to tell them, face to face, in city council meetings, in e-mails, and in memo after memo and they did nothing. If they really have no power as elected officials, then why elect them? Mayor Mia Love promised us an independant investigation and Council member McOmber promised this to me directly. Why are we given empty promises? Someone of seniority in the city administration has to sign off on these abuses perpetrated by city officials. Who signed off? Someone should be held accountable. What happened to openness, accountability and transparency in city hall? It hasn't happened yet. No one is taking responsibility. No one was fired yet. Yes, the City Prosecutor/City Attorney resigned, but claimed she feared for her life. Mayor Love was seen asking Lindsay Jarvis how the city can make more money; the problem with that question is that it is giving the prosecutor unbridled power to abuse the citizens. It's making the prosecutor understand that to keep her job she must bring in more fine money; this is undue pressure from the Mayor to the City Prosecutor. There are alot of questions for the Mayor at this point. We have to get to the bottom of this, mistakes were made, we have to hold our government responsible. We have an obligation to make sure this does not happen again. We have repeated violations of our Constitution and we have elected officials making false statements to cover their a*z.
