NSF Saratoga Springs U.S. Naval Base offering services and support to the Fleet, Fighter, and Family.

Naval Support Activity (NSA) Saratoga Springs is located in one of the most scenic areas of the country, approximately 35 miles north of the New York state capital of Albany. NSA Saratoga Springs traces its origin to the establishment of Naval Administrative Unit (NAU) Scotia, NY in 1974 to support the Navy’s nuclear power operations in Ballston Spa, NY. NAU Scotia eventually was moved to Saratoga

Springs, NY and renamed Naval Support Unit (NSU) Saratoga Springs in 1999. On 01 October 2010, the command’s name was changed to NSA Saratoga Springs and aligned under Commander, Navy Installations Command. The installation’s focus is to provide the most effective and efficient shore support to Sailors and their dependents in the Saratoga area. Many of the Navy’s nuclear operators flow through Saratoga Springs every year as they complete the final phase of the Navy nuclear power training pipeline at Nuclear Power Training Unit, Ballston Spa. NSA Saratoga Springs supports the Fleet, Fighter, Family by ensuring that these Sailors receive services which are comparable to those that they might find at any other Navy installation and helps prepare these young Sailors and their dependents for service in the Fleet. The Sailors and civilians of NSA Saratoga Springs take pride in the fact that we support National Security through our work to help Sailors become “full-up-rounds” for the Fleet.

The DOD Summer Reading Program Kick-off is June 7 from 10-12pm at the Community Rec Center, Pavilion 1. There will be games, a bounce house and staff available to help you sign up. Additional information is available at 518-886-0200 ext 126.
