Had an opportunity to participate at our Wellness Fair today sponsored by the SADD club. I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this as our students in this club are really very passionate about this opportunity of promoting health and wellness to our students.

Tomorrow marks our 8th year of Galway Backpack Program inspired and designed by Madison DesPres!!
Today, so many students stopped by and while they’ve heard about our program and or know it first hand, we were able to have discussions. The poster boards speak volumes; their responses prompted discussions to hopefully have a better understanding.

The game (permission granted from students to take pics) was an activity I found - the rules were simple- unlimited resource of toothpicks, had to build the tallest structure with the baggie of marshmallows given in 2 minutes time and it had to be standing alone!! After the fact, students realized their resources were not the same but asked to accomplish the same goal. Only the one who structure stood the highest, won a prize!!

Happy Anniversary to this program!! Without this community and their connections to help us keep sustainable, eight years of supporting our students would not be a reality. Stop by at the lawn on Memorial Day and chat with me. Kids receive a free gift!!

Party starts tonight!! “Like”, “love” this post so I can invite you!!! Any purchase you make for you children, or your grandchildren still benefits our efforts!! Money spent is money earned to the program to purchase books for our students in the program!!! I’ll be finalizing my wishlist soon - but I’m looking to purchase level reading books with chapters, activity books about nature, and other interactive resources. These will be included in the last backpack before our students break for summer break.

Jenna has made this easy providing this fundraising opportunity for our 50+ students we support each week - from Pre-K to High school students. Each purchase, each financial sponsorship, or each gift of one of these books, will be given to each student in June in their backpack. Any extra books will be given to our students we support during the summer school program!!
