๐ Starting February 8, the Phase II water shortage restrictions will go into effect through July 1, 2026.
The Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) has updated the restriction from Phase I โก๏ธ Phase II due to below average rainfall during the summer rainy season. ๐ฅ
Water levels in aquifers, rivers, and lakes, are continuing to decline and many are below normal. ๐
โจWe should always conserve water because it is a limited resourceโจ
๐ฐDid you know, outdoor water use accounts for more than 50% of water consumed by households?
โ๏ธTo conserve water, irrigating is now restricted to one day a week.
โ๏ธFor low-volume watering of plants & shrubs (micro-irrigation, hand watering) is allowed any day/time.
โ๏ธThese restrictions apply even if you are on a private well.
