Rotary Club of Sarasota Sunrise We are neighbors, friends, and community leaders who come together to create positive, lasting change Internationally we support literacy in Tanzania.

The Rotary Club of Sarasota Sunrise, chartered in early 1981, is active in community projects ranging from helping under-privileged local children to literacy, adopt a road, Tree of Joy, Beach wheelchairs and so much more. Members of the Rotary Club of Sarasota Sunrise meet every Friday morning at 7am at Der Dutchman Restaurant 3713 Bahia Vista Street for an hour of laughter, friendship, food, fun, networking, and discussion while listening to local speakers talking about issues of current interest.

We officially inducted Cory Fountain into the Sarasota Sunrise Rotary family as our newest member. Cory had his wife, Shelly by his side along with his three children. We are blessed to have Cory join our family and we look forward to witnessing his exciting Rotary journey.

This Friday is a special day for our club as we officially welcome Cory Fountain into the Rotary Club of Sarasota Sunrise family. We are truly grateful that Cory has chosen to become part of our Rotary family and share in our commitment to friendship, service, and making a difference in the lives of others. Please join us in giving Cory a warm Sunrise welcome as we celebrate the beginning of his Rotary journey!

Cory Fountain was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA where he met his wife, Shelly, who was also his high school sweetheart. Cory and Shelly have three children together and recently moved to Sarasota in June 2024 just in time to experience their first hurricanes.

Cory‘s hobbies include baseball, basketball, playing some neighborhood poker, dinner dates and remaining undefeated at Marco Polo, although his kids may disagree.

After a 25+ year career as a medical device industry rep, Cory now focuses 100% of his business attention on his agency, COFO Insurance Group. For the past 12 years, Cory has supported and assisted his clients with their Medicare insurance needs, from reducing the stress of the initial enrollment to navigating the complexities of plan selection, the Open Enrollment season, and beyond.

What a special morning at the Rotary Club of Sarasota Sunrise.

A heartfelt thank you to Henry Detwiler for sharing his remarkable life story with our members, families, and friends. His stories were filled with wisdom, humor, faith, perseverance, and lessons learned over a lifetime.

One of the most touching moments came when Henry spoke so beautifully about his wife and the life they have shared together. It was a wonderful reminder of the importance of love, partnership, and gratitude for the people who walk beside us through life.

Henry also spoke about trusting God and recognizing that sometimes we are placed in situations we may not understand at the time, but that ultimately help us grow. His words clearly touched hearts in the room. Afterward, one attendee shared how deeply his message resonated with something she was carrying in her own heart and how grateful she was to be surrounded by her Rotarian family. ❤️

Henry, thank you for giving us more than a wonderful program. You gave us a morning of reflection, connection, and gratitude that many of us will remember for a long time.

We were truly honored to have you with us. 💙

Jeff Miller has been a valued member of the Rotary Club of Sarasota Sunrise since 2018, bringing a strong commitment to leadership, service, and community.

Jeff serves his family business, Dutchman Hospitality Group, as General Manager of the Florida Campus, which includes Der Dutchman Restaurant, Carlisle Inn, and Carlisle Gifts. He also serves as Vice-Chair of the company’s Board of Directors.

His commitment to service extends throughout our community and beyond through his work on the boards of Crossroads Farm, Gator Wilderness Camp, and VIDANET.

Jeff and his wife, Kathy, have been married since 1994 and have three adult children. When he isn’t working or serving others, Jeff enjoys traveling and reading a good book.

Jeff Miller serves his family business, Dutchman Hospitality Group, in multiple roles. Jeff is the General Manager for the Florida Campus which includes Der Dutchman Restaurant, Carlisle Inn, and the Carlisle Gifts in Sarasota, FL. He has been in that role since 2015. Jeff also serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors which he has been a part of since 1996.

Jeff serves on three non-profit boards: Crossroads Farm, Gator Wilderness Camp, and VIDANET.

Jeff has been part of the Sarasota Rotary Sunrise club since 2018.

This Friday, we are pleased to welcome Luz Moreno to the Rotary Club of Sarasota Sunrise family.

Luz Moreno is 38 years old, originally from Mexico, and was raised in Florida from the age of eight. She is a proud mother of four amazing souls who bring so much love and happiness into her life, and she is now blessed to be a soon-to-be grandmother to two wonderful little boys.

Being surrounded by her family is what makes her heart happiest. Family, love, and helping others are some of the most important values in her life.

Luz truly loves her career as an insurance agent and the opportunity it gives her to help people protect what matters most to them. Her ultimate goal in life is to continue helping and making a difference in the lives of others for as long as God allows me to. She believes that life is not about what others do for you, but about what you can do for others. ❤️
