Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association, Inc. In 1972, our name changed to The Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association, Inc., but our focus on providing for people in need has remained the same.

The Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association was established as a charitable organization in 1897 as the District Nurse Association and later merged with the Saranac Lake Tuberculosis Society in 1907. We are dedicated to improving the health of the people within the Saranac Lake School District by funding medical and dental health initiatives.

Dental financial assistance for basic dental care is available to permanent residents of the Saranac Lake Central School District that do not have Medicaid, Fidelis or other dental insurance coverage. A small, limited amount of emergency assistance is available for those with Medicaid and Fidelis experiencing severe pain and/or swelling. All applicants must have a financial need. Please contact the office at 518-891-0910 for more information or an application.
