Sonoma County Vet Connect Inc. We are a 501c3 Non Profit corporation Sonoma County Vet Connect is a partnership of Veteran volunteers and providers of Veterans' services.

We create a bridge between Veterans in local communities and governmental / non-governmental service providers under one roof. We offer NO COST SERVICES. Across the county half day clinics take place. Monthly in Guerneville, Petaluma, and Sonoma, We also meet weekly on Tuesdays in Santa Rosa for your convience. (SEE HOURS OF OPERATION BELOW)

milies, from the recently returned to the retirees, including those who have served in combat and in peacetime, and regardless of the character of discharge. If you or someone you know has ever been in the military, we would like to come on in. We provide a one-stop resource for information, assistance and referrals regarding
Veterans’ benefits,
VA health care,
Counseling for veterans and their families,
Housing and employment counseling. Transportation information. Death and burial benefits, widows pension,
Education benefilts and much more. If you are a family member concerned about the emotional or physical
health of a veteran, you are also welcome.

🇺🇲Vietnam War Stories: Honoring the Heroes We Lost: Terence Arnold Handley of Oregon

Today we honor Chief Warrant Officer Terence Arnold Handley, of Portland Oregon, who served with the 68th Medical Detachment, 61st Medical Battalion, 67th Medical Group, United States Army. Terry joined the Army right out of high school, age 18, and became a member of Warrant Officer Flight Training Class 69-25, earning his bars and wings at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, in August, 1969.

On October 20, 1970 Terry was on the crew as Pilot and Aircraft Commander of the helicopter UH-1H #66-16617 during a medical mission out of Phu Bai in South Vietnam when they were involved in a mid-air collision with another helicopter (69-16023) OH-6A. They crashed 8 kilometers from Binh Son, there were no survivors. Terry was 20 years old.

A recipient of the Air Medal and the Purple Heart Medal, Chief Warrant Officer Handley is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington DC on Panel 06W Line 12. Terry lies in rest at River View Cemetery in Portland Oregon. Lest We Forget.

🇺🇲Vietnam War Stories: Veterans Day 2024: Honoring the Heroes We Lost: Billy Lewis Strickland of North Carolina

Today we honor Corporal Billy Lewis Strickland, of Hendersonville North Carolina, who served with Battery B, 1st Battalion, 44th Artillery Regiment, 108th Artillery Group, First Field Force, United States Army. Billy was fatally wounded on January 24, 1968 during the Ambush at D**g Ha-camp Carroll, South Vietnam, Quang Tri province. Billy was 21 years old.

A recipient of the Purple Heart Medal, Corporal Strickland, is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington DC on Panel 35E Line 28. Billy lies in rest at Shepherd Memorial Park in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Lest We Forget.
