👏🏼 We're proud to share that Congressman Mike Thompson honored Santa Rosa Police Department detective Kelsea Nelson and KT Swan, Buckelew Programs, Program Director for the inRESPONSE Mental Health Support Team at the annual Public Safety Heroes Reception this past week. Buckelew is honored to be a part of inRESPONSE, a critical mental health resource in Sonoma County. Thanks to KT and all our team members for their dedication to helping our most vulnerable community members.

Established in 2022, inRESPONSE Mental Health Support Team is designed to handle service calls with a mental health-first approach. The team is composed of a licensed mental health clinician, a paramedic, a homeless engagement specialist, and wrap-around service providers. inRESPONSE is trained in de-escalation, social work interventions, and both physical and mental health evaluations. While inRESPONSE collaborates with the Santa Rosa Police Department, the team is unarmed and is best equipped to assist individuals and families in crisis by offering mental health resources.

In 2024, the inRESPONSE Mental Health Support Team responded to 4,977 calls for services and nearly 1,000 calls to our system navigators for resources and support. The mental health support team diverted 4,301 calls from a police response and 1,772 fire and EMS diversions. inRESPONSE crisis response vans now operate 24/7 to provide the Santa Rosa community with around-the-clock care.

Exciting News: Grant Received to Empower TAY Youth!

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT, COMMUNITY SUPPORT, SAFETY AND STABILITY
Community Support Network is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded an incredible grant to enhance our TAY (Transitional Age Youth) permanent supportive housing program! This generous support from the Legacy Fund, established by the Press Democrat to uplift local non-profits, will significantly impact the lives of vulnerable young adults in our community. With this funding, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering youth, ensuring they have access to the resources and support they need to thrive. This grant will enable us to expand our services, providing holistic support that includes mental health resources, job training programs, and life skills workshops. By addressing the wide ranging needs of our youth, we aim to foster independence and resilience, helping them navigate their journey toward a brighter future. Together, we can create a nurturing environment where every young person feels valued and empowered to achieve their dreams.
