🚧 Construction Update: Hopper Avenue Corridor Fire Recovery Improvements
Week of June 1, 2026

Here’s what to expect in the week ahead:

Crews will continue demolishing the existing sidewalk and preparing for new concrete installation on the north side of Hopper Avenue between Coffey Lane and Crestview Drive.

🚶‍♂️ A pedestrian bypass on the north side of Hopper Avenue is in place to help people safely travel through the area during construction.

🚲 Please note: The bike lane and parking lane on the north side of Hopper Avenue in this section remain closed to accommodate the work. The south side is still open at this time.

Starting June 1, crews will also resume underground utility work in the Piner Creek area along Hopper Avenue. Please watch for traffic control signage and crew members in the area.

Allow extra travel time when driving through the corridor.

🚧 Construction Update: Hearn Community Hub 🚧

Exciting progress is happening at the future Hearn Community Hub!

On Tuesday, May 27, crews successfully poured the concrete slab for the new Roseland Library—a big milestone as this space starts to take shape. And yes, the concrete pump truck was pretty impressive… it has quite the reach! 👀

Looking ahead, work continues tomorrow, May 29, with the concrete slab pour for the new Fire Station 8—another key step in bringing this important community hub to life.

We’re thrilled to see these essential community resources moving forward and can’t wait to share more updates as construction progresses.

🚧 Construction Update: Hearn Community Hub 🚧

This Friday, May 29, crews will be pouring the concrete slab for Fire Station 8—a major milestone for this important project. To get everything ready, set-up, staging, and safety checks for the concrete pump will begin early at 5:00 a.m.

We know that’s an early start, but this timing helps ensure the concrete is placed under the best possible temperature conditions for quality and safety.

Saturday, May 30, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, work will continue as the contractor will be saw-cutting control joints in the concrete slab. This Saturday work is necessary to maintain the construction schedule.

Thank you for your patience as we continue building this essential community resource. We’ll keep you posted with updates as progress continues!
