THIS Saturday, June 4th at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, a bucket list event can be checked off...
Witness one of the most beautiful events as we celebrate the Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic.
The dawn patrol kicks off at 6am with the ground being covered and coffee fueling volunteers buzzing with anticipation.
Gradually you hear the thunder of flame from the gas filling the flat turf before you, blowing into the balloons. Then, one by one, huge expansions of color rise and come alive all around you.
As you become surrounded with the most beautiful display of shape and color, take the time to notice the coordination of
hard working pilots kicking the flame, instructing the fortunate who will fly with them and steadying the baskets that will be their brief window on the world. YOU will be in awe!
With the glass of sparkling wine in your hand, the magic begins as the vessels float up, up and away over the fairgrounds, our homes, Costco and the 101 to live in your memory forever.
As you get back home, you may crawl back into your warm bed
as you realize it may only be 10 am, but that was not a dream. It is proof of our wonderful world and you can live to experience it every day!
