One of the largest efforts here at SCOE to improve literacy rates is the Sonoma County Literacy Fellowship. 📚 With this fellowship, SCOE has trained and provided follow-up to more than 200 educators using the Orton-Gillingham method’s phonics-based approach to instruction. 🔤 Last week, this year’s cohort of elementary teachers came together to share and celebrate the work they’ve been doing to support learning. 🙌 We’re excited to expand the fellowship to grades K-6 as well as offer a new pilot opportunity for secondary school teachers in 2026-27.
